The Grand Illumination and annual tree lighting takes place near the Market House every year on the Sunday after Thanksgiving (12/1)!
The Downtown Annapolis Partnership joins the City of Annapolis as they ring in the holiday season in downtown Annapolis.
3:15 pm – 3:50 pm: ASO Duet
4:00 pm – 4:30 pm: Naptown Sings & Plays performance
4:00 pm – 4:30 pm: Storytime, cookies, hot chocolate, and nutcrackers for kids inside Zachery’s Jewelers
4:30 pm – 4:50 pm: Chesapeake Ballet performance
4:50 pm – 5:15 pm: The Talent Machine Company performance
5:15 pm: Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Elfie arrive by fire truck
The annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony will include carolers, music, and general merriment! This event is free and open to the public. Join Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Elfie as they arrive to light the Christmas tree.
Downtown road closures during Grand Illumination: Fleet Street, Cornhill Street, and Market Space. The City of Annapolis has several free and discounted parking options during the holiday season. They include two hours free on street parking on commercial streets and the first hour free in Hillman Parking Garage when using the ParkMobile App. The Calvert Street Parking Garage located at 19 St. Johns Street has free parking every weekday evening. All weekend at the Whitmore Parking Garage (25 Clay Street) is just $1.25 per hour and a flat rate of $4 after 4:00 pm every day.
