This Maryland tax-free holiday applies to clothing and footwear that are priced at $100 or less. The first $40 of a new backpack is also tax-free! Keep in mind that accessories are not included in this tax break. Scarves, purses, jewelry, ties, headbands, and belt buckles are all taxed during this week and are not tax-exempt.
