Summer Camp Series with Mad Science of DC
This summer, join us every Thursday, starting June 20 - August 1 for our Summer Camp Series with Mad Science DC at Westfield Annapolis!
Mad Science® is on a mission to spark the imagination and curiosity of children by providing them with fun, interactive and educational programs that instill a clear understanding of what science is really about and how it affects their world. Mad Science offers fun, hands-on science programs for kids with summer camps, after school programs, birthday parties, workshops and event entertainment.
Programs will begin at 3PM starting with a show/demonstration that is FREE for kids to attend, followed by a hands-on workshop from 4-5pm*
Shows + Workshops will be held in Crate & Barrel Court.
*Workshops are a $10 donation per participant to Anne Arundel Medical Center Pediatrics. Must be registered to participate in hands-on workshop. Limited Availability. All children must be attended by an adult at all times.
Things That Go Boom - Show

Discover the science behind sound and vibration. See amazing color changing chemical reactions, explore sumlimation, radical reactions and more. The super Mad Science bubble experiment will even show kids a fun way to wash their hands.

A spellbinding special event introduces children to the principles of air and pressure. Hot air balloons, vortex generators and even a hovercraft will help children understand the power of air.

Pre-K ABC's - Show
Date: July 11, 2019

A spellbinding show introducing children to the principles of vibration and chemistry. See how vibrations can make sound, watch as the instructor mixes potions together to make a rainbow. Hear dry ice talk, and see how chemistry can blow up a balloon.

Spin, Pop, Boom! - Show

The audience will be amazed when the Mad Scientist is able to defy gravity in this energetic event. Foaming cups and steaming chemical reactions will introduce kids to the world of exciting chemistry.

This interactive event is all about the fundamentals of moving science including newton’s 3 Laws of Motion and surprises including alien antennae and space age rocket packs. Discover the science behind some of your favorite Olympic sports and find out why this show is such a “blast”.

Spectacular Science: Fire & Ice - Show

An indoor show where the kids explore the scientific process with this exciting show. Learn the science behind magic, explore air pressure and see spectacular indoor fireworks. The children will also discover the secret behind sublimation with our bubbling potions.

Bubbling Potions - Workshop

Find out what a real Mad Scientist has inside those beakers and flasks! Learn the secret behind dry ice as we explore carbon dioxide, sublimation, and the three states of matter. This workshop is guaranteed to be a gas!
