Hi Friends,
It's official! I no longer have a child in "mandatory" school. Today was the last day for Seniors at Annapolis H.S. and in a few short weeks my daughter will walk across the stage and get her very hard earned diploma. I think I'm more excited than my kids. So many habits and rituals relating to going to school that have been part of our family life for many years are over. Some I will miss - like first day of school pics and attending assemblies. Some I will not miss - like making sure homework is done and getting kids out of bed in the morning. This entire year I thought my daughter's graduation was about her accomplishments and transition to adulthood. And it is! But is also about the role of a parent and making sure our kids have the skills they need to survive and succeed in this world. And now, I feel a since of completion and a bit less stressed. Ready or not world - a new batch of adults is ready to venture out and make their mark!
Memorial Day Parade
Macaroni KID Annapolis will be in the Annapolis Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 29th. It starts at 10am and travels the traditional parade route from Amos Garrett Boulevard and West St., then goes down West Street to Church Circle and down Main Street to City Dock. Look for our Red, White, and Blue truck blowing bubbles.
