"Spend time in your favorite places watching birds–then tell us about them! In as little as 15 minutes notice the birds around you. Identify them, count them, and submit them to help scientists better understand and protect birds around the world." That's what The Great Backyard Bird Count is all about.
From Feb. 17- 20, 2023, the goal of the Great Backyard Bird Count is to count birds all around the world by people it doing it in their own backyard. Participating is really easy and you can do it with your kids at home or at a neighborhood park.

Directions on How Your Family Can Participate
- Decide where you will watch birds.
- Decide when you will watch birds. Watch birds for 15 minutes or more, at least once over the four days, February 17-20, 2023.
- Identify and count all of the birds you see and hear. When not sure of a bird species, use your best guess.
- Report your finds at www.birdcount.org.

- Make and hang a Cookie Cutter Bird Feeder.
- Make and hang a Recycled Carton Bird Feeder.
