Spread Kindness With Small Random Acts

Random Acts of Kindness Day is February 17th

Being kind is something to strive to be everyday. We can be kind in small and big ways. We can be kind to our family, friends, neighbors, and even ourselves. February 17th is Random Acts of Kindness Day and is the perfect day to commit to making a difference in someone's day by doing something kind for others. Being kind spreads joy and encourages others to do the same.  


Here are 14 kid-friendly ideas on how to participate in Random Acts of Kindness Day:

  1. Draw a picture and give it to a neighbor.
  2. Donate a book to a Little Library
  3. Give a compliment to each family member and your best friend.  
  4. Leave quarters at a laundry mat.
  5. Smile at 5 strangers.
  6. Leave snacks out for delivery drivers.
  7. Offer to straighten something in your classroom, such as the story corner.
  8. Ask someone about their day.
  9. Help out a shopper by offering to return their cart.
  10. Hold a door open for someone.
  11. Do a chore at home without being asked.
  12. Leave an inspiring quote or silly joke in a library book.
  13. Read a story to someone.
  14. And don't forget about you! - Say something positive to yourself.
