Living in the DC, Maryland, Virginia metropolitan region is great and has a plethora of holiday activities and events. However, we tend to forget that there is an entire state of amazing Christmas sights to see. One of them was discovered by my daughter before her first year interning with the Maryland General Assembly.
Every year garden clubs from across Maryland deck the halls of the State House in Annapolis by decorating 24 Christmas trees. One representing each county and Baltimore City.
Each year a different garden club is chosen and they are tasked with decorating the tree based on the county or important events/figures from the area.
This is a wonderful opportunity to visit Annapolis which is all decked out for the holidays, but it's also a fantastic way to learn about our state and all the counties that conform to it, and it's also a great way to draw inspiration to decorate your own Christmas tree if you haven't started yet!
