Hi Friends,
Needing a nap but feeling great and running into 2023 at full speed. December was such a busy month for my family. Besides the typical holidays, we celebrate 3 birthdays between Dec. 19 and Jan 3. My mom's birthday is Christmas Day. This year was amazing for us. Games nights, looking at Christmas lights, making and eating special food, watching holiday movies, and my favorite - hanging out together. But now that the holidays are just a memory, it's time to look forward to 2023.
Planning 2023 Fun
Macaroni KID Annapolis has started planning events for this year. I'll fill you in on the details as I have them. We will have some Monthly MacKID Annapolis Meetups for families with younger kids. I'm working with other Anne Arundel County MacKID publishers to bring you several large events.
I'm currently working on the Summer Camp Guide and plan to have it on the website by the end of the month. It's going to be a full and very fun year. Can't Wait!

- Anne Arundel County Community College
- Come out to visit with area camps to find the right one/s for your family. There will also be games, giveaway, entertainment, and food.
Resolutions
Did you make a resolution for the new year? Many years ago, I decided to add something each year instead of take something away. I have decided to add better self-care in 2023. I'm going to take things a little slower, focus on tasks that bring me joy, maintain previously set boundaries, and look for ways to be active.
My 17 year old daughter, Kat came up with an idea to focus on a different goal each month. Here are her goals for 2023.
- Jan: Focus on my grades and studies
- Feb: Go to the Gym 2x a week
- Mar: Save money
- Apr: Express gratitude every day
- May: Spend time with family on the weekends
- Jun: Drink more water
- Jul: Hike and enjoy nature
- Aug: Focus on getting ready for and adjusted to college
- Sep: Practice mindfulness
- Oct: Spend less time on the phone
- Nov: Donate my time to those less fortunate
- Dec: Declutter my room
