When Will Fall Leaves Peak in Annapolis and Where to See Them

Wondering when the color of fall leaves will peak in 2023 near Annapolis and where best to see them?


The Farmers Almanac predicts peak color for inland Maryland between Oct. 12 and 28 and for coastal Maryland between Oct. 19 and Nov. 4.

Where to go leaf looking in Annapolis

While at Macaroni KID Annapolis we don't use scientific data to determine the best place to go in Annapolis to see fall leaves, we think we have pretty good intel!

U.S. Naval Academy

You can access the academy located in Annapolis and take a guided walking or driving tour. Contact the visitor center for dates, times, prices, and other information.   

As you walk (or drive) around the historic U.S. Naval Academy, you will see hundreds of mature trees, shrubs, and potted mums in various tones of golds, oranges, and browns. The architecture of the gigantic buildings and rivers passing on two sides adds to the beauty of the campus.

Greenbury Point

Bullard Boulevard, Naval Support, Annapolis 

This natural conservation area located at the mouth of the Severn River is a popular hiking spot. Managed by Naval Support Activity (NSA) but open to the public when the firing ranges are closed. Hours and Map

Historic Annapolis

Quiet Water Park

600 Quiet Waters Park Rd, Annapolis

Visitors can enjoy trails, playground, or picnic among 340 acres of beautiful park land. Map

Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC)

647 Contees Wharf Road, Edgewater

There are four miles of trails for hiking or biking. They are open Monday through Saturday, 8am-5:30pm. Closed Sundays and federal holidays. Maps and Trails

If you prefer to take a drive, head southwest of Annapolis to the rural two lane roads in South Anne Arundel County. The winding, tree covered roads are a very peaceful drive and a great way to spend a few hours with your family.
