71st Anne Arundel County Fair, Sept 13-17

Join us for Kids Day, Cute Kid Contest, and 5 days of fun for the entire family!

One of our county's most exciting annual events is next week. The Anne Arundel County Fair runs for 5 days, September 13-17, 2023 at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds in Crownsville. From pig races to 4-H exhibits, concerts to carnival rides, the fair is five days of family fun. 

Kids under age 10 get in FREE.

We're unapologetically biased towards kids 😉, so we're highlighting some of the fair events especially geared towards KIDS!

🎡 Children's Day: Friday, September 15th 

  • 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • Children’s Day is a special time just for preschool through elementary school aged children and their families.
  • Discount tickets available at the gate: Ages 9 and over $5, Ages 8 and under are free

Special Kids Day Activities

  • Pig and Duck Races
  • Livestock Animals
  • Free Kiddy Rides
  • Milking Cow Station
  • AACo Sheriffs office K-9 Demo at 11:00 AM
  • Macaroni KID table with games, goodies and giveaways
  • Special performances just for Kids Day

🎡 Children’s Tug of War: Saturday, September 16th 

  • 12 PM, Noon
  • For Children 5 to 12 years of age. 
  • Location: Lower Stage 
  • Must be at least 10 participants in each class. Classes may be adjusted. Classes: 5-6 yrs / 7-8 yrs / 9-10 yrs / 11-12 yrs 
  • Ribbons will be awarded

🎡 Scarecrow Making Workshop: Saturday, September 16th 

  • Have fun making your own scarecrow to take home
  • 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM
  • Location: Next to poultry and rabbit barn
  • Chairperson: Mitzi Hardy (443) 995-3039

🎡 Pie Eating Contest: Saturday September 16th 

  • Registration starts at 2:30 PM
  • Contest 3:30 PM 
  • Location: Behind Exhibit Building booth
  • Categories: 12 and under / 13-18 / 19 and older
  • $1 registration fee
  • Chairpersons: Lisa and Dan Overstreet


🎡 Cute Kid Contest: Sunday, September 17th

  • 9:15 AM Check-In 
  • 9:45 AM Contest Begins
  • Location: Upper Stage
  • Age Groups: 1-5 years old
  • Casual Dress Only
  • The theme this year is barnyard and judging is based in relation to the theme.
  • Each age group is limited to the first 25 children
  • Pre-register by September 14th or on the day of the contest
  • $5 entry fee payable at registration

  • Registration 1:30 PM
  • Contest 2 PM
  • Location: Behind Exhibit Building booth
  • Categories: 12 and under / 13-18 / 19 and older
  • $1 registration fee
