Chambers Park - Annapolis

By Darla Winstead - Macaroni Kid Publisher May 20, 2021

Chambers Park is located at 14 Dorsey Ave. in Annapolis.  I first heard about this community park in 2020 after a mural of Breonna Taylor was painted on the basketball court.  On a recent visit I was pleasantly surprised by all the things to do and see in this compact park.  The park is located off a quiet residential street in the Parole community.  Exit Dorsey Ave. and drive up the long driveway to the parking area.  The shaded Chambers Park has many things to do for the entire family.  Separate playgrounds for 2-5 year olds and 5-12 year olds have many things to climb on and slide down.  A place to let children and their imaginations run wild.  The playgrounds are next to each other so you can supervise mixed ages quite well.  On the other side of the double basketball court is a swing area with seats for little and big kids.  I love that there is a Little Free Library near a sitting area.  Read a book at the park, take it home if you like it and want to read it again.  Bring it back the next time you go to the park and trade it for another.  Before you head home, stop by the Stormwater Education Station created by the Spa Creek Conservancy to learn about rain barrels and rain gardens and how they help Spa Creek.  This park is well maintained and a place kids love.
