Build Your Kids' Confidence This Summer One Story At a Time

By Nicole Donnelly, MK Annapolis June 23, 2020

By now we’ve heard it a thousand times — we are making history as we live through a pandemic like our world hasn’t seen in 100 years.

NOW is a unique time that is worth writing about.

Kids are incredibly observant. They understand and FEEL far more than we frequently give them credit for. They don’t always know how to express their ideas and emotions, though. WRITING and drawing and doodling are perfect stepping stones to helping children figure out how to express what it is they want to say. Because one thing is certain: they are feeling a LOT right now, and writing is an awesome way to get it out.

Building Confidence One Story At a Time is a 5-week writer’s workshop for children aged 8-12**. The goal? To learn to write with confidence - whether they choose to write about life during a pandemic or something else.

This workshop* is a series of 5 lessons. Each week, the 2-day lesson will revolve around a specific character trait inherent to confidence and a strong sense of self, brought to life through creative writing. Sign up for a week, two, or all five!
